I know exactly how you feel, life is so busy itself let alone trying to promote your event. However, lets be honest, if there is not a lot of time spent promoting your CPD event, the truth is that people will not hear about it. ​

DOES SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTION MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

I have spent years promoting our Online CPD events at Onlinevents.co.uk. When I first starting using social media to promote our events, we had very little followers, people had not heard about us, so they did not really stop by my posts. So....I spent the last couple of years interacting with practitioners online, getting known and creating a sure presence online.

Spending this time has been so worth it, as now when I share upcoming events on our Facebook page and Twitter profile, delegates sign up from my posts and even look out for what I am posting to see if there is anything that interests them. What is also very exciting about social media is that our audience tag their colleagues when they see something that will interest them. So, what all of this means is you should NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE REACH OF SOCIAL MEDIA!

WHY VIDEO?

Remember that people interact and do 'business' with people they know ,like and trust....this is a well proven fact, especially in marketing. You are creating a transaction between you and potential delegates who will be more likely to check out your event coming up if they feel they "know" you.

You can create connections through video that cannot be made with an image or some text. Think that it is like meeting someone at a networking event, you would not just hand them a leaflet and walk away.

TIP: When you are recording your video, imagine you are talking to someone you have met at a networking event. Imagine they have asked you more about your upcoming CPD event. Keep it relaxed and think about what information they would need in order to make a decision to register for your event.
